Clare is delighted to have her my co-authored book chapter published this week in the new Critical Dietetics and Critical Nutrition Studies textbook (edited by Prof John Coveney and Dr Sue Booth) #SustainableFoodSystems (Carlsson, Mehta and Pettinger, 2019). This is an international collaboration between a Dietitian in Canada and one in Australia. This chapter critiques the important role that nutrition and dietetic professionals have to play in food systems discourse. It invites readers to consider a food system that is “based on values where individual health, the health of the society (social system) and ecosystem health are of equal importance…..”
Clare says “This vision of a better food system may seem like an ideological and somewhat unrealistic pipe dream…but I believe that with a stronger force of combined and connected communities, we can work together to make this vision a reality…”
