Thinking about becoming a Community Researcher?
Community Food Researchers from FoodSEqual Plymouth, and other research hubs across FoodSEqual have created a handy, honest guide to becoming and working as a community researcher. The guide shares first-hand and individual perspectives, written by community researchers, for anyone thinking of getting involved in community research.
Topics include ‘what keeps us thriving’ and insights into unexpected outcomes and challenges and highlights. Case studies delve deeper into experiences and themes, like developing confidence in the role, working as a team, reality checks, and practical tips.
This work was funded by FoodSEqual as part of its ‘legacy work’ co-designed with FoodSEqual community researchers to make a supported transition from this 5-year project, which ends in January 2026.
