Two of Plymouth’s gardening champions have been sharing their gardening adventures on BBC Radio Devon recently. Dennis Trewin and Tess Wilmot shared their enthusiasm and love of gardening on Toby Buckland’s regular Sunday morning gardening programme. On Sunday 18th November, as Toby was away, Michael Chequer interviewed Dennis about his broad experience in gardening and teaching as well as the wonderful work he does with the Horticulture Therapy Trust.
The following Sunday, Tess joined Vic Morgan to share her enthusiasm for permaculture, foraging and the ‘art of identification’ skills. Tess explained how she was drawn to working in Devonport in 2008 to create edible landscapes and leave a growing legacy. At present Tess is working at the Mount Wise Towers in Devonport to redesign the areas around the Towers with the residents so that it is beneficial for people and wildlife.
Zoe Nile’s favourite quote from Tess’s conversation was ” You do not have to invent magic, it is already out there, just look at nature!”
