| By Gemma Scott Recent data shows that around 40% of eligible people in Plymouth are under-subscribing to the Healthy Start Scheme. This means that local families could be missing out on around £300 per year in fruit and veg vouchers. Most strikingly, the total cost of vouchers not claimed to people in Plymouth could be around £250000per year. The vouchers could also be being used to support one of the 77 local retailers who support the scheme. Plymouth City Council Public Health have made a strong commitment to supporting as many families as possible to claim entitlement to the Healthy Start Scheme.
