Food is Fun – Fishstock Festival 2018
by Tami Skelton
Food Is Fun have been supporting Fishstock Festival for years, and it’s definitely one of my favourite festivals. The one day event is located in the fish quay, right in the heart of Brixham and attracts hundreds of families each year. The atmosphere is friendly and buzzing from start to finish. In the Food is Fun Education Marquee we, of course, focus on fish. Children can explore all elements of fish, from seeing it as it comes out of the sea, to making fresh fish fingers and fishcakes for them to eat. This year we had the pleasure of working with some of the team from Devon Norse. We had over 100 children visiting us to spend a happy time chopping, mixing, and making their own lunches while parents can relax with a drink and watch the live cookery demos.
We are so fortunate in the South West to be surrounded by the sea which gives us a huge variety of fish, and as we know, it’s all about educating children from a young age on how to make the right food choices.
