This is a strategy session for the Sustain alliance Brexit Forum: With six months to go until Brexit Day, what do we need to know and do?
By October, it will be less than six months until Brexit Day and the new Parliamentary session will already be in full swing. Decisions and legislation are now being made about how the UK will in future govern farming and the environment; protect fish stocks and marine ecosystems; allocate public subsidies and conduct international trade in agri-food products. A food strategy for Defra is promised.

The Agriculture Bill has finally been tabled by Secretary of State Michael Gove. As the first comprehensive Agriculture Bill since 1947 it should be an opportunity to deliver real change.
There are some good elements, surprises, major gaps and glaring flaws; as you would expect. Here is our initial reaction and a link to the Defra policy statement and relevant papers alongside the Bill.
