Having hosted the RSA Food Farming and Countryside Commission cycle tour of the UK in Plymouth with Food Plymouth colleagues and partners in September 2018, Ian Smith was delighted to be at the launch of the Commission’s book Fork in the Road in London on 11th April. Fork in the Road reflects the seven month cycle tour and its massive contribution to the Commission’s work.

In this vein, Commission chair Sir Ian Cheshire observes that “we saw projects that demonstrate farming at the heart of their communities … Those of us in positions of leadership in business and in government have much to learn from from those who just get on and take up leadership in their own communities.” The aspiration is that this will influence our thinking, reconnect us with our food systems and shape future policy. Food Plymouth is continuing in its activities to convert these aspirations into realities.
