Amazing Ambassadors!
Sugar Smart continues to get messages out to the people of Devon thanks to the efforts of our wonderful ambassadors. In recent months Sugar Smart has had a presence at a number of local schools, and staff health and wellbeing events, including Mid Devon District Council and Devon Partnership Trust.
Tamara Bennett recently promoted Sugar Smart to a group of children in a local primary school and had the following to say about her experience:
“60 year 7 children engaged in Sugar Smart activities and gleaned lots of information to encourage them to go away and make better choices. I love that in a class of children you can always get ‘a reaction’ when you talk about sugar; and by the end of any presentation they go away motivated to make positive changes and ‘swaps’ to reduce their sugar intake….once they have heard about the impact of high sugar consumption!”
