| By Tess Wilmot Food Plymouth’s Growing Community Abundance project is supporting many of the amazing community gardens and growing spaces across Plymouth. In July, some of these projects are opening their gardens so you can explore these hidden gems. The first is on Thursday 4th July at the northern end of Penlee Allotments when you can visit the Horticultural Therapy Trust to enjoy a tour and to help mulch the paths to make access easier. The open events then continue until the end of July.
Keep an eye out on Food Plymouth’s social media channels for more updates about the fantastic opportunities to visit these lovely projects. Some are big, some are small, some have just started and others have been going for many years. They are all growing people as well as building the soil, feeding the bees and of course growing lots of fruit and vegetables. Growing Community Abundance is funded by the Lottery Communities Fund with the aim of supporting and empowering community growers so that their projects thrive.
