The Food Power south west regional learning network meeting took place at Buzz Lockleaze, Bristol on 17th April. Representatives from Food Power Alliances from Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole, Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth and Cornwall took part. The meeting was expertly facilitated by south west peer mentor Sarah Watson.
The event was enriched by inputs by Maddie Guerlain from Sustain’s national Food Power team. Maddie’s contributions included an update on the Healthy Start Vouchers scheme.
The Plymouth Food Equality Alliance was represented by Food Plymouth CIC director Ian Smith. Commenting on the event, Ian said: “This was a really valuable sharing and learning session. It will certainly inform Food Plymouth’s on-going work around promoting food equality and countering food poverty. Big thanks to the excellent Buzz Lockleaze team for hosting, Maddie for her informative inputs, Sarah for facilitating and colleagues from around the region for taking part with such candour and vigour.”
Look out for further updates on Plymouth’s Food Power work in future editions of this e-bulletin.
